Greetings from the 2010 NAR Convention and Trade Show in New Orleans! Today is day one and the real estate sessions that we took today are:
“Harness Emerging Technologies” where we learned a lot about some new and emerging technologies being used for real estate. One of those new technologies is the QR code which is a bar code that can be scanned by your mobile phone after downloading an application to enable it to. So what is behind the barcode? Anything you want! Listing information for a particular house, a flyer, another ad, information about you or your company. The sky is the limit! We learned more about mobile computing which is becoming bigger and bigger. The most active times for search right now are between 10pm and midnight on mobile phones and ipads. Seems a real possibility that the PC may give way to cell phones and the ipad in terms of computing.
There were many more ideas discussed.
“It’s A Price War To The Door” was the second session where we discussed real estate truths, the dangers of overpriced real estate listings, seller expectations and stats that matter.
“Leadership In The New Real Estate Marketplace” was the last session we completed. The most important thing that we learned is that now is the time that we have the opportunity to prove that we are the best in Shippensburg. We also discussed the fact that now is the best time that many have ever witnessed to purchase a home. The Wall Street Journal has listed 10 reasons you should buy now:
1. You can get a good deal
2. Mortgage rates are low
3. Save on taxes
4. A house is yours – ownership
5. You will get a better home
6. Inflation protection
7. It is risk capital
8. It is forced savings
9. The inventory is high, there is a lot of homes to choose from
10. Sooner or later the market will clear
We also saw some data which shows that the wealthy are now buying homes at a fast pace! The newspapers are saying that now is the time to buy, the “experts” are also saying the same thing. And the data shows that the wealthy are now buying. That should indicate that NOW IS THE TIME!
I think the worst is behind. We are happy to be here in New Orleans to take in this education so that JALEX Real Estate Services can continue to offer the best real estate sales and service in the Shippensburg area!
